Annual Theatre Program 2010-2011

ABOUT OUR THEATRE PERFORMANCE PROGRAM
![]() |
Pegasus Performing Arts has been providing quality
professional theatre training for the young performer since 1993.
Students enrolled in our 24 week production based course will benefit
from performing in two shows every season. Our success over the years is attributed to the simple idea that every student should be given a good speaking part in order to create a character to shine on stage with. We also believe that each class should consist of peers that are of a similar age group. |
The maximum number of students in each class is 14, which we believe allows each performer to prosper and flourish in a strong and creative group dynamic. Each class performs together in their own production and are not combined with the rest of our school for casting. Auditions for the productions are held within each class. |

| There is certainly an emphasis on
production and production quality at Pegasus, and as we all know the
best way to get better at anything is to practice with a goal in mind.
Our students also learn valuable life skills, which they can use in the
future and well beyond the world of theatre. Better concentration
and focus, improved physical movement and awareness, better voice and
diction, and the ability to have a voice in pressure situations.
They will learn the art of improvisation, delve into physical creation
with neutral and character masks, study emotions and character types,
explore music and rhythm like never before, and so much more. Pegasus will always be about having fun, and by encouraging the creativity and imagination to soar in each of our young performers. |

Our goal is a simple one - to have all of our students be more comfortable and natural and to express themselves with more confidence and clarity on and off the stage. |

OUR DIRECTOR
![]() |
Wayne West is a professional actor, playwright, director, and producer.
He graduated from the Professional Theatre program at John Abbott
College in 1985, and then continued to pursue studies in radio,
television production, photography, and film. Wayne began his teaching career in 1998, but 5 years later he opened Pegasus, and for the last fifteen years he has served as the artistic director producing over one-hundred stage productions and over 30 movies mostly featuring many of the talented young people he has taught throughout the island of Montreal. |
KING ARTHUR - Dress Rehearsal 2006 |
Below is a teen (13-17years) dress rehearsal of our King Arthur
production in 2006. Poor lighting and sound but a good piece of theatre
and a fine example of what our young people can expect for their
mainstage production in June.
